simulated work with year two students

Before this, I had never participated in a team animation project. I was both excited and a little nervous about this day. I worried that I might slow down the team or that I wouldn’t be able to contribute much to help the tear two students. Fortunately, YoYo quickly identified each of our strengths and assigned tasks accordingly.

After watching the animatic for the project, YoYo assigned me to draw the frames where the protagonist bends down and looks through the hole upside down at the camera. She also provided me with some reference videos they had recorded.

The rough sketches I completed

The action of bending down and sticking the head through a hole in the body was particularly challenging for me because it’s something a real person can’t physically do. As a result, the reference videos couldn’t fully capture the movement. I spent a lot of time experimenting with different shapes and poses to get the motion right.
